Take time to celebrate the important milestones in your business and life.
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in early May. Friends and family flew in from 4 countries and from across the USA to help us mark this milestone.
At our party, there was live music, Creole and Cajun cooking, wonderful speeches, and late-night dancing in the garden.
People came from all walks of our life to celebrate. We are still floating from this once-in-a-lifetime experience. (See photos below.)

We Work To Live
As you know, it’s difficult to celebrate anything during the peak work season.
But since “we work to live”, it is important to honor life’s journey, no matter the season.
We stop in our tracks when something tragic happens, and we must also stop and make time for the happy moments.

Your Challenge: Keep Your Employees Attuned To The Happy Moments And Noteworthy Milestones
You have employees with birthdays and work anniversary dates that land in the Spring.
How do you mark these occasions?
For example, the Owner and Leaders at A+ Lawn and Landscape take their employees to a personal lunch on both of these occasions.
How about the special milestones your employees celebrate at home? And their milestones reached at work?
People are motivated by achieving “mastery” and “purpose” according to the famous author, Dan Pink.
Take time to celebrate both:
- Honor your employees and their accomplishments.
- Highlight your company’s accomplishments.
- Celebrate the holidays and special occasions, no matter how busy you are.
And of course, dedicate that same time to your own family.
Hey, we are in the green industry, let’s stop and smell the roses, too.
